I was soldering Arduino projects at twelve and decided at fourteen I would build Android apps. At eighteen, studying at Université Ibn Zohr in Morocco, I opened an oDesk account — before it renamed to Upwork — and spent five years shipping mobile apps for clients across Europe and beyond. This chapter built the habits everything else stands on: shipping discipline, client communication, and owning a product from first call to store release.

Exhibit 01

Android in Morocco

Native Java across API levels 19–25: Retrofit and OkHttp against REST backends, SQLite with ContentProviders, Google Maps integrations, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Material Design interfaces — through ProGuard obfuscation and staged Play Store rollouts. Every app went from contract to published listing under my name.

Computer Engineering in Kharkiv

After three years at Ibn Zohr I transferred, at 21, to Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics — Ukraine had solid engineering programs I could actually afford. Arriving without the language was its own education. The degree gave me the foundations that resurfaced years later in infrastructure and GPU work: operating systems, networking, embedded systems, computer architecture.

Exhibit 03

React Native pivot

As the market moved, I moved: React Native 0.55–0.60 with Redux, offline-first architectures built on AsyncStorage with background sync, native module bridging when the framework ran out, Firebase auth, messaging, and analytics — one codebase delivering both stores, with CodePush pushing fixes over the air.

Reputation to opportunity

I never applied to Veedoo. In 2019, at 23, they reached out on the strength of five years of freelance work — and the scope expanded from mobile apps to full-stack platforms, EU public-sector systems, AI pipelines, and eventually the CTO seat.
